Needs Statement
Despite improvements in SCI medical management, rehospitalization rates remain high. It has been estimated that 32% of medical costs in the first 2 years after injury was directly attributed to secondary medical complications and patients with SCI still present a high prevalence of secondary complications many years after their rehabilitation.Target Audience
This is designed for persons with spinal cord injury and their caregivers, health care providers who serve them, future health care providers, community partners, educators and researchers to come together to discuss current topics that directly impact persons with SCI.Objectives
