Biosketch
Dr. Lurie is Associate Professor of Medicine and of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. He received his M.D. degree from Stanford University in 1992 and his M.S. degree in evaluative clinical sciences from Dartmouth in 1997. Dr. Lurie currently practices hospital and general internal medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He is also Physician Investigator on the Spine Patient Outcomes Research Trial (SPORT)
and a member of the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care Working Group. Dr. Lurie’s major areas of interest include understanding how the clinical, radiological, and genetic features of patients with lumbar spine problems can affect treatment outcomes, evaluating
outcome instruments, modeling the physician workforce, and teaching evidence-based medicine.
