Biosketch
Dr. Lofwall completed her residency training in Psychiatry and a clinical research fellowship in Addictions at Johns Hopkins. She now is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry with an adjunct appointment in the Department of Behavioral Science at the University of Kentucky. She is a strong addiction treatment advocate and has an active outpatient office-based opioid addiction treatment practice. She also teaches residents and medical students about treatment of substance use disorders. She spends the majority of her time engaged in clinical research aimed at improving the treatment of opioid addiction and has a particular interest in risk management educational programs to prevent diversion and misuse of prescription opioids.
